Shipping Overview

Double Holo provides flexible shipping options designed to protect both buyers and sellers while keeping costs reasonable. Our shipping requirements are based on order value to ensure appropriate protection for each transaction.

Shipping Requirements

All sellers must adhere to the following shipping requirements based on order value. Failure to meet these requirements may result in loss of seller protection and account penalties.

Envelope Shipping (Orders Under $50)

For orders under $50, sellers can use our budget-friendly envelope shipping option. This option provides USPS Intelligent Mail (IV) tracking and includes seller protection up to $50.

Seller Protection Included

When you use our envelope shipping option, you are automatically covered under Seller Protection up to $50 if the item is lost or damaged in transit. This protection is provided by Double Holo at no additional cost to you.

How Envelope Shipping Works

  1. Purchase a label - Generate a shipping label directly from your order details page
  2. Print the label - Print the PDF label which includes a USPS tracking barcode and the buyer's address
  3. Attach to envelope - Print directly on a #10 envelope or tape the label onto any envelope
  4. Add a postage stamp - You provide your own USPS postage stamp
  5. Drop in mailbox - USPS will scan the barcode and tracking updates automatically

Important Notes for Envelope Shipping

  • Only available for orders under $50
  • The label fee is deducted from your payout
  • You must provide your own postage stamp
  • Cards should be properly protected (toploader + team bag recommended)
  • Use a standard #10 business envelope or rigid mailer

Tracked Shipping (Orders $50+)

Orders totaling $50 or more require tracked shipping through a major carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.). Untracked shipping methods like plain white envelope (PWE) with stamp only are not permitted for orders at or above this threshold.

Purchasing Shipping Labels

You have two options for obtaining tracked shipping labels:

Option 1: Double Holo Labels

  • Purchase discounted labels directly in-app
  • Powered by Shippo with carrier discounts
  • $0.15 platform fee per label
  • Automatic tracking updates
  • Easy insurance claims through Double Holo

Option 2: Your Own Labels

  • Purchase from USPS, UPS, FedEx, or Pirate Ship
  • Enter tracking number manually
  • Handle insurance claims directly with carrier
  • No platform fee

  • USPS Priority Mail - Faster delivery, includes $50 insurance
  • UPS Ground - Reliable for larger packages
  • FedEx Ground - Good for bulk shipments

High-Value Orders ($500+)

Mandatory Requirements for Orders $500+

  • Tracked Shipping - Must include a tracking number
  • Signature Confirmation - Recipient must sign upon delivery
  • Full Insurance - Must be insured for the complete transaction value

High-value transactions require additional protection to ensure both parties are covered. These requirements are mandatory and cannot be waived.

Why These Requirements?

  • Signature confirmation prevents "package not received" fraud and proves delivery to the correct recipient
  • Full insurance ensures the seller can be reimbursed if the package is lost or damaged
  • Extended payout hold (14 days vs 7 days) provides additional time for delivery verification

Seller Liability Warning

If you fail to meet the mandatory shipping requirements for high-value orders, you will NOT be eligible for seller protection in the event of delivery disputes, lost packages, or buyer claims. This may result in automatic refunds to buyers and potential account suspension.

Shipping Timeframes

Sellers must ship items within 3 business days of receiving payment.

What Counts as "Shipped"?

An order is considered shipped when:

  • The tracking number shows the package has been scanned by the carrier
  • For envelope shipping: The package has been picked up or received its first scan
  • Simply printing a label does not count as shipped

Packaging Guidelines

Proper packaging is essential to ensure cards arrive safely. Sellers are responsible for packaging items securely to prevent damage during transit.

Recommended Packaging for Cards

Single Cards (Raw)

  • Penny sleeve + toploader
  • Team bag around toploader
  • Tape toploader closed (not on card surface)
  • Rigid mailer or bubble mailer

Graded Cards (PSA, CGC, BGS)

  • Bubble wrap around slab
  • Cardboard padding on both sides
  • Bubble mailer or small box
  • Fill empty space to prevent movement

Envelope Shipping Packaging

  • Card in penny sleeve + toploader
  • Toploader in team bag, taped closed
  • Place between two pieces of cardboard (optional but recommended)
  • Use a standard #10 envelope or rigid mailer
  • Mark envelope "DO NOT BEND" if desired

Packaging Warning

Cards that arrive damaged due to inadequate packaging are the seller's responsibility. Always package cards as if they will be handled roughly during transit.

Double Holo provides seller protection to help protect you from losses due to shipping issues, as long as you follow our shipping requirements.

  • Ship to the address provided through Double Holo (no address changes via direct message)
  • Use tracking for all orders $50+
  • Use signature confirmation and insurance for orders $500+
  • Ship within 3 business days of payment
  • Package items appropriately to prevent damage

When Seller Protection Does NOT Apply

  • Shipping to an address not provided through Double Holo
  • Using untracked shipping for orders $50+
  • Not using required signature/insurance for orders $500+
  • Shipping after the 3 business day window without buyer approval
  • Item arrives damaged due to inadequate packaging

Lost & Damaged Packages

If Your Package is Lost

  1. Check tracking status - packages sometimes show no movement then suddenly arrive
  2. Wait until the expected delivery window has passed (typically 7-14 days from ship date)
  3. For envelope shipping: Contact Double Holo support to file a seller protection claim
  4. For tracked shipping: File an insurance claim with the carrier or through Double Holo if you used our labels

If Your Package Arrives Damaged

  1. Take photos of the damaged packaging and contents immediately
  2. Do not discard any packaging materials
  3. Contact Double Holo support within 72 hours of delivery
  4. We will work with you and the carrier to resolve the claim

Reporting Timeline

All shipping issues must be reported within 72 hours of the delivery date (or expected delivery date for lost packages). Claims submitted after this window may not be eligible for resolution.

What is envelope shipping?

Envelope shipping is a budget-friendly option for orders under $50. You purchase a tracking label through Double Holo, print it on an envelope, add your own postage stamp, and drop it in any mailbox. It includes USPS Intelligent Mail tracking and seller protection up to $50.

Can I use plain white envelope (PWE) shipping without tracking?

We strongly discourage untracked PWE shipping as it provides no protection for either party. For orders under $50, we recommend using our envelope shipping option which provides tracking and seller protection for a small fee plus a stamp. Orders $50 and above require tracked shipping.

What does seller protection cover?

For envelope shipping, Double Holo provides seller protection up to $50 if the item is lost or damaged in transit. This means if the buyer claims non-delivery and tracking shows it wasn't delivered, you won't lose your payout. For tracked shipping, protection is based on carrier insurance.

Why do orders $500+ require signature confirmation?

Signature confirmation prevents fraud by proving the package was delivered to the correct recipient. Without it, buyers can claim they never received the package even if tracking shows "delivered." This protects both the seller and Double Holo from fraudulent claims.

How long do I have to ship an order?

Sellers must ship items within 3 business days of receiving payment. If you need more time, communicate with the buyer through the platform. Repeated late shipments may result in account penalties.

Can I ship internationally?

Currently, Double Holo only supports shipping within the United States. All buyers and sellers must have U.S. shipping addresses. International shipping may be added in the future.

What if the buyer provides a wrong address?

Always ship to the address provided through Double Holo. If a buyer asks you to ship to a different address via direct message, do not comply - this voids seller protection. If the address appears incorrect, contact Double Holo support before shipping.

How do I purchase a shipping label through Double Holo?

Go to your order details page and look for the shipping section. For orders under $50, you'll see the envelope shipping option. For orders $50+, you can purchase tracked shipping labels through our integrated Shippo service. Both options are available directly in the order interface.

What if my package shows delivered but the buyer says they didn't receive it?

If tracking shows delivered but the buyer claims non-receipt, contact Double Holo support. We will investigate and typically side with the seller when tracking confirms delivery. For orders $500+, signature confirmation provides additional proof of delivery.

Can I use my own shipping supplies?

Yes, you can use your own envelopes, bubble mailers, boxes, toploaders, and other packaging materials. The important thing is that items are packaged securely to prevent damage during transit. See our Packaging Guidelines section for recommendations.
